(Ans. #2)

An ideal response will:
1, Explain that it probably would have worried the framers a great deal.
2, Explain that delegates to the Constitutional Convention were concerned about the growing popularity of democracy and put many checks on majority rule.
3, Explain that the framers feared the tyranny of the majority, so they made only one part of one of the three branches of government subject to election by a direct vote of the people: the House of Representatives.
4, Explain that the framers would have disagreed with the Seventeenth Amendment, which moved the election of senators from state legislatures to a direct vote, and they would have opposed the abolishment of the Electoral College.
