"Just you wait 'til your father gets home tonight! When I tell him what you've done you'll be punished for sure!" Why is this often-heard strategy, unfortunately present in many households, generally ineffective in changing behavior?
a)  Punishment works best if it quickly follows the response-to-be-punished.
b)  Punishment is effective if it is administered by the same person every time.
c)  Severe punishments are more effective than less-severe punishments, and severity tends to decrease over time.
d)  Dad's arrival is pleasantly reinforcing, but Dad's punishment is harsh; counterconditioning will take place.
