You are a family service worker in a low-income neighborhood. A client has just informed you that her 14-year-old daughter is pregnant. Both she and her daughter are committed to giving birth and raising the child. The client now asks for your advice. "Will the infant be okay? Will there be problems during child birth or later on?" the client asks. "What can I do to make sure everything is all right with my daughter and the infant?"

Write a response to the client. In your answer, comment on the risks to the developing infant and young mother and predictions for later development. Discuss ways your client can increase the likelihood of healthy development.
