A child excitedly tries to comment on something that occurred on the bus to school. He says, "The bus...the bus...the bus didn't stop..." What should be the response of his teacher?

▸ Ignore it—this is typical disfluency.

▸ Ask the parents to gently correct such disfluencies at home before they become more severe.

▸ Refer the child for further evaluation by a speech and language pathologist.
