Gauss formula to find nth triangular number is :-

Tn = n(n+1) / 2 .......(1)

Now we have to find triangular numbers greater than 800 and less than 900. So,

800 < n(n+1) / 2 < 900

Or, 1600 < n(n+1) < 1800

Now the values of n(natural number) which satisfies the given inquality are

n=40 , n=41 (by hit and trial method)

So,putting the values of n in equation (1),we get :-

T40 = 40(40+1) / 2 = 820

T41 = 41(41+1) / 2 = 861

ANSWER- Triangular numbers between 800 and 900 are 820 and 861.

Thank you! This was a much better explanation than I was given in my actual class.
