The pedigree is showing the autosomal dominant trait. Because there are not found skipping of trait from one generation to another. If the parent has trait, then it will pass trait to atleast some of the offspring.
The normal individuals have pp genotype.
The affected individuals have either PP or Pp genotype.
If mating between normal and affected occurs, and progenies are affected, then affected parent and affected offspring have Pp genotype. whereas normal parent and affected parent have pp genotypes.
That's why, the following genotypes are found:
I-1: Pp
I-2: pp
II-1:pp
II-2: Pp
II-3: pp
II-4: Pp
II-5: pp
III- 1: pp
III-2: Pp
III-3: pp
III-4: pp
III-5: Pp
III-6: Pp
III-1 and III-2 are fraternal twins. Because there are found different genotype. This suggests that they are produced from different zygotes.
