A stone is thrown upwards with an initial velocity of 25m/s at an angle of 30 degree to the ground then  find  how long will it take between when the stone was thrown and when it comes back to the ground?

where v is the initial velocity, θ is the angle of projection, and g is the acceleration due to gravity (9.8 m/s2).

Therefore, the time taken for the stone to come back to the ground is:

t = 2(25 m/s) sin(30°) / 9.8 m/s2

t = 5.1 s
