An enzyme is a catalyst but not all catalysts are enzymes. Enzymes are typically proteins that are able to speed up the reaction rate of a specific chemical reaction. Catalysts are agents that can increase the rate of completion of a chemical reaction , but they are not necessarily proteins or enzymes. They can actually be metals or other compounds.

Enzymes make reactions proceed faster in a variety of ways, including binding to the reactants and making sure they get near each other or stressing bonds that need to break in the reaction. They are absolutely critical in any living organism because they really save the organism a lot of energy, among other things.

A catalyst is a compound that doesn't actually get consumed in a reaction, but speeds it up in one way or another.

See the relation? Enzymes are biological catalysts.
