I heard they're pretty good and was considering applying to the same school myself.  A MD is a MD - no matter where you go to school, right?

No, an MD is not an MD.  The algorithm goes US allo > US DO > Caribbean.  Caribbean schools have a monstrous attrition rate -- that is, the dropout/failure rate is 10x or more that of US allo schools.  You'll also not have access to federal loan programs.  For residency purposes, you'll be considered a foreign medical graduate, making it significantly more difficult to land a spot.  The training is sub-par, which contributes to the 57% USMLE STEP I passage rate (the average for US allo programs is 91%).  Guys, do yourselves both a favor and take a year or two to strengthen your app and apply MD or DO.  Check out http://forums.studentdoctor.net/ for loads more info.
