p + p/2 + p/4 = 1

=> (4p + 2p + p)/4 = 1

=> 7p = 4

i.e. p = 4/7......so, D.

As the outcomes are exclusive, sum of all outcomes is equal to 1
i.e.,
p+p/2+p/4=1
=> 7/4 p =1
=> p= 4/7
