Which emits more energy, an electron moving from the 6th to the 4th energy level or an electron moving from the 4th to the 2nd energy level? Explain.

Please remember to say why you say which one! I believe it is the 6th to the 4th but I cant remember why. This may be on a homework quiz we have tomorrow so please help!

it is 4th to 2nd as in both cases there is difference of 2 shell...but just remember one thing as we go from 1st shell to onward the energy diff. Between two shells deceases for eg. energy gap between 1st n 2nd shell is more than that in 2nd n 3rd shell so it was for objective questions but for for subjective u can prove using formula by calculating energy diff.i guess u get it..
