Use of ohms law, and laws of series and parallel resistors.

eg, voltages add in series, current is the same.

In parallel, voltage is the same, currents add.

Can't be more specific without a specific example.

You solve it piecemeal.   The voltage across parallel components is the same.   The current through series components is the same.  The effective resistance of two resistors in parallel is
(R1xR2)/(R1+R2)
