a) what are the phenotypes of each parent?
b) What are the genotypes & genotypic ratios of the F1?
c) What are the phenotypes & phenotypic ratios of the F1?
L=long legs
l = short legs
S = smooth coat

Phenotype is the overall appearance of an organism. the phenotype for Llss would be long legs (because there is a dominant gene, or control gene), and the coat would be griffon coat. for llSs, the legs would be short, and the coat would be smooth. the geneotypes are the genetic appearance, like Llss. that is the geneotype. you can then make all of the possible outcomes of the combining of these two parents genes. you can do a box by putting S and s on top and L and l on the side.
and fill in the blanks.           LS        Ls
                                         Ls        ls
then, the geneotypes are the above and the phenotypes you just have to do for the kids the same thing you do for the parents

the ratios just mean what is the chance for long legs to happen, short legs, smooth coat, etc. It's like probability.
