After properly applying the AED to a pulseless patient and pressing the "analyze" button, the machine indicates, "no shock advised." The explanation for this is:
A) the patient is in cardiac arrest, but the rhythm causing it cannot be corrected with a shock.
B) the machine has detected that it would be dangerous to deliver a shock and you must check to make sure no one is in contact with the patient before analyzing again.
C) the AED has malfunctioned and you must proceed with CPR.
D) the patient is not in cardiac arrest.
