1.He predicts the outcomes.
2.He uses pea plants that has easy observable traits and short life span.

As an expert mathematician and a scientist, his theory and hypothesis from mathematical reasoning supported his scientific claims. Thus, his observations from his punnet-squares partially led to his correct conclusion. Secondly, the man studied peas. Peas can breed offspring in two weeks, and, because they were peas, Mendel was able to force-breed selectively. He also studied seven precise characteristics of peas: constricted skin, size, color, etc. However, the man was extremely lucky. One of the main reasons why his experiments were successful is mainly because he got outrageously lucky with his peas. The peas that he bred together, comparing the SEVEN characteristics were a perfect match, which supported his punette square hypothesis. If the experiment did not support his theory with the punette square, he would have abandoned the theory that made him great. His chances with that particular experiment being successful had to be under to exact right conditions, which was much less than a 'one in a hundred' chance. Maybe, because Mendel was a monk, God decided to reward him by making him one of the greatest scientists of biological history.
