I have a diagram of a punnett square and it says purple-flowered peas are crossed with white-flowered pease and then it has purple represented as FF and white represented as ff, what goes on the top and what goes at the side?                                                                                                then it ask infere what trait is dominant, what four gene pairs would be listed in a punnett square completed for the first plant crossing, and describe the appearance  of all the first-generation pea plants.

It wouldnt matter which goes on top and the side. you will get the same thing either way. The trait that is dominant is the Ff and FF trait but all the traits will be Ff so all will look the same in that particular trait.

It doesn't matter which side they go on.  All 4 squares would contain Ff and they would all be Purple.
