CaO(s) + H2O(l) Rightwards Arrow Ca(OH)2(aq)

i.e. one mol of the oxide gives two mol hydroxide ions in solution. So calculate the number mol oxide you start with to find the mol OH-

Then find [OH-] = mol OH-/2.00L

finally calculate pOH and then pH = 14 - pOH
