A haploid cell has only one copy of each chromosome.  A diploid cell has two copies.

1)  In humans the reproductive cells (eggs and sperm) are haploid.

2)  Human haploid cells have one 23 chromosomes.

3)  A diploid cell has 2 copies of each chromosome.

4)  In human cells every cell except for the sperm and eggs is diploid.

5)  Each human diploid cell has 2 copies of each of the 23 human chromosomes, so if you multiply it out: 2 x 23 = 46.  There are 46 chromosomes in each human diploid cell.

A haploid contains exactly half of a species? typical full set of genetic material.

1) Gametes ( sperms and eggs)
2) 23 chromosomes
3) A cell is diploid if it contains exactly two copies of each chromosome.
4) somatic( body cells)
5) 46 chromosomes.
