I'm currently working my post grad studies in Homeland Security and will hopefully begin working in HS/Emergency Management this summer. I was wondering if anyone on here worked in those fields?

This is the first time I've heard of such job title, so congratulations on getting into something that not too many people do for a living. Please elaborate on that if you have a chance and describe what got you into it. Anyway, after researching it, I found this link that might help:

Lynn has worked in the Disaster / Emergency Management profession for over 37 years (she claims that she was 3 years old when she started). She has experience in the field as a responder, a field trainer and in Emergency Operations Centres where she has worked on various disasters such as; earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, air crashes, forest fires and civil disturbances, to name a few.
Lynn has extensive disaster experience in the international field and has worked in Bosnia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Sudan, Somalia, Serbia, and Montenegro with such agencies as the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, The International Red Cross Red Crescent Societies, UNICEF, World Health Organization, Doctors without Borders, and the European Community Humanitarian Office.
Her work has also included working with municipalities; regional districts and private industry in assisting them develop practical Emergency Plans, Emergency Operations Centre training and exercise design.

Lynn was the BCAEM Vice-President from 2009 to 2011 and is currently the Fraser Valley Regional District's Emergency Program Manager.
