i took apart my old computer for the blu ray diode. i cant figure out what side is positive or negative. the rods have no ribbon or strip or anything around them to define them, and no leg is shorter that the other, so is there any other way other that longer leg, ribbon-ed leg, and an arrow pointing to the positive? because my diode has none of those.

this could easily be done with a digital multimeter..just look for the right setting.
