what is the major reason for the differences seen in conduction velocity between the myelinated nerves and the unmyelinated nerves?

I believe this is the answer you're looking for:

In myelinated nerves, conduction velocity is faster as the action potential jumps from node of Ranvier (internode) to node of Ranvier and does not travel along the cell membrane.
