... How are the chemical products of the light-trapping reactions coupled to the synthesis of carbohydrates?

ey u cheatin on ur homework again billy?... hehe jk

but im pretty sure there is a chemical in the plant that makes this work cuz the starting product is the sun's energy and after going through photosynthesis it turns into ATP the sugars and stuff

ok

lets see if I remember

6CO2 + 6 H2O ----> C6H1206 glucose + some O2

he MG+ inthe chlorophyl molecule is the business end of it

then trees stick the glose together to make cellulose (wood mostly)

CO2 + H2O + sunlight -> o2 + c6h12o6
   When a chlorophyl pigment absorbs the sun light , a photon will make contact with the pigments reaction center causing electrons to go through a serious of electrons acceptor. the electron will eventually be accepted by photosystem II, and when it does H2O will split and O2 will be released or "exhaled " by the plant.
    the chemical products is then sent to the calvin cycle to create  glucose
