The empirical formula is the smallest integer ratio of atoms. Basically, some proper molecular formulas may contain multiples of atoms in ratios that can be reduced to a smaller, simpler ratio.
For instance, C2H6O2 would have an empirical formula of CH3O (formula mass of the CH3O- aka methoxide ion is 31.03 and this can be found using the periodic table as usual once you know the formula), C2H4 could be simplified to CH2. N2O5 cannot be simplified, NO2.5 is not an integer formula. I hope you can solve the last 2 based on that information.
