Why are there so many phenotypes in polygenic inheritance?

A. There are many alleles for each gene
B. Many genes for the same trait interact to produce a continuous range of phenotypes
C. All of the alleles are dominant
D. All of the alleles are recessive

I am thinking that the second choice is the correct answer. Any help would be great.
