I'm having so much trouble with this question:

Why are people at risk for venous clots (deep vein thromboses, for example) put on drugs like Heparin, Coumadin or Low-Molecular Weight Heparin while people at risk for arterial clots are more often put on Aspirin and/or Plavix or similar drugs? If the clotting sequence is the same and the meds all work to prevent thrombus formation and/or clotting, why do we use different drugs to prevent blood clots in arteries vs. veins?
