How do I go about studying for biology? Especially for genetics? My professor is really bad at teaching so is all over the place...

Textbook isn't working for you either? Genetics is a tough subject; my teacher wasn't to genetics savvy either. I ended up grabbing a secondary textbook I found online. I read that with the one I purchased for the course, and I ended up doing well. Any questions you're stuck on?

What i did was recorded each lecture, and went back home and listened to them while following along in my notes and the book. Never read the full chapters because that's just too much information. Focus on the figures, key points, and the chapter summary. Any time i don't think i fully understood something or couldn't remember terms, I wrote or typed the process or definition out until I understood it.  Also I would search for some practice multiple choice problems online and do those for practice.
