How Do I Solve These Equation For The Variable?

2x + 7 = 18. 3x + -6 = -1. -9x + -7 = 4. I would like an explanation showing the steps to solving the equation and a verbal explanation. Thank you Ladies, and Gentlemen.

When solving equations, anything you do to one side of the equation, do to the other side also.
2x+7=18
subtract 7 on both sides to get rid of 7 on the left side
2x+7-7=18-7
2x=11
divide 2 on both sides to get x alone
x=5.5

3x+ (-6)=-1
add 6 to both sides to get x alone
3x=5
x=5/3

-9x + -7 = 4
add 7 to both sides
-9x=11
divide-9 on both sides
x= -11/9

when solving an equation you should always make sure that x is by itself (alone) so you should bring the like terms to one side making sure that if it's minus then change it to plus..vice versa.....and if its multiplication than change it to division...vice versa....
CHECK
No.1 2x+7=18 2x+7=18
or,2x=18-7 2*5.5+7=18
or,2x=11 11+7=18
or,x=11/2 18=18
Therefore x= 5.5
No.2 3x+-6= -1 3x+-6=-1
or,3x=-1+6 3*0.116+-6=-1
or,3x=5 -1=-1
or,x=5/3
Therefore x=0.116279
No.3 -9x+-7=4 -9x+-7=4
or,-9x=4+7 -9*1.222+-7=4
or,-9x=11 4=4
or,x=-11/9 .
Therefore x=1.222
