B) Farmers run businesses, their farms, which must make a profit in order to survive. Therefore when John Deere, the farm equipment company, directs the advertising of its products toward farmers it is engaging in business-to-business advertising. Since farms and farmers operate for profit, John Deere would not implement non-profit advertising. John Deere does not direct farmers to purchase equipment from specific, fixed locations and therefore has not employed retail advertising. Instead they are focused on promoting the benefits of their equipment for the objectives of the farmers' businesses. And it is unlikely that John Deere would employ interactive advertising since interactive media will not inform farmers better about the effectiveness of their equipment by promoting the success of farms and how their equipment will help farmers create that success.
