Do you know? Chemical energy is stored in chemical bonds, but what are reasons for using or not using it?

Errr, chemical energy can be burned to produce heat energy. (e.g. burning coal (carbon) or splitting atoms for nuclear energy [still chem. energy theoretically] -> creates heat energy -> powers electrical generator to make elec. energy.)

Advantages would be more heat energy released. Disadvantages would be health concerns, etc.
