COMPLETE METAMORPHOSIS
is when an insect undergoes a complete change
the life cycle has four stages-egg,larva,pupa,adult
the larva and adult feed on different types of food and so do no compete with each other
e.g housefly,mosquito,butterfly

INCOMPLETE METAMORPHOSIS
is when the insects develop gradually
the life cycle has three stages-egg,nymph,adult
e.g grasshopper,beetles,ladybirs
a nymph look exactly like and adult but does not have wins.Nymphs and adults feed on the same type of food and so compete with each other.
