Is it possible to "teach" psychology to high school students with a degreee in psychology? What other jobs are out there with just four years of training?

Hmm, you mean other than as a McDonalds counter-person?

No, generally speaking, and with the competiton present today, you need a teaching certificate, at the very minimum, to teach in a public highschool.

Many states also require a Masters Degree to get hired as a teacher or at least you must persue one part time as a condition of employment.

But you can teach in a non-public school, provding that you actually have some noteworthy skill worth teching.

Getting a BS in psych hardly seems like rocket science though, and you really don't know enough to teach it, without at least a lot of work experience.

Most psych majors who want to work in the field get theit Masters degree at the least, and with a Masters you can teach in public schools and colleges, and community colleges are always looking for good teachers, though the salaries are low.

You should have thought about what you want to work as before you graduated with a virtually useless degree.
An engineer with a BS can find work easily, psych and English BS majors get jobs as receptionists. However, if its any consolation, they are intellegent receptionists.

You can go into private practice in some fields and earn a living that way. You will not be qualified to call yourself a Psychologist but you can open a clinic to help people quit smoking, for instance.

One sure bet for Psych BS grads is to learn hypnotism and practice it for smoking, overeating, alcoholism..,patients. Or do marriage counceling.

Most of these kinds of jobs do not require any special licensing or professional credentials to enter and many do very well. The guy who founded EST, or Scientology were very successful, maybe you cna do the same.
Hey, here;s an idea, why not go and start a Fantasy Island Resort, a psych health spa for adults? Now that might be interesting, and profitable too.

If you are interested in Teaching Psychology then you probably need a recognized Masters or PhD. Try Calamus International University www.unicalamus.org They are quite strong in fields like psychoanalysis, metaphysics, hypnotherapy and counselling. Check out the website. Good news is that the programs are affordable, user friendly and there is no need for classroom attendance. Just good old fashioned tutored distance learning for working adults.

If you want to teach you will need a masters so you can teach and it will be at community college or part time status at a university. If you want the full time teaching at a university you will need a PhD and have to do continous research. As for B.A in psych and job prospects they do not look to greator lucrative for that matter. I recommend master's level it's the best investment and not as lengthy so you can start working soon.
