she wants you to teach her.  You tell her to simply write down what she eats for one day and to talk to you tomorrow.  When Rosie sees you the next day she is very excited and asks you to help calculate %kcal from each of the macronutrients so she can see if she is in the recommended Macronutrient range.

You check out her food log and see that Rosie ate:
476 grams of Carbohydrate
72 grams of Fat and
92 grams of Protein.

Please answer the following questions:

1. How many calories did Rosie take in during her 1st day using the food log?

2. What % of Rosie’s total calories consumed come from Carbohydrate?

3. What % of Rosie’s total calories consumed come from Protein?

4. What % of Rosie’s total calories consumed come from Fat?

2. What % of Rosie’s total calories consumed come from Carbohydrate?

476 + 76 + 92 = 644

476 / 644 = 0.739 Rightwards Arrow 73.9%

1. How many calories did Rosie take in during her 1st day using the food log?

For carbohydrates, 1 g = 4 Cals.
For protein, 1 g = 4 Cals.
For fats, 1 g = 9 Cals.

4 x 476 grams of Carbohydrate =
9 x 72 grams of Fat and =
4 x 92 grams of Protein =
