Answer to q. 1

Concepts to Consider: A key difference is the location of growth: animals grow throughout
their bodies while plants only grow at meristematic regions. Plants can grow throughout their
lifespan while most animals cannot. Plants may undergo both primary and secondary growth
whereas animals do not have this distinction in growth.

Answer to q. 2

Concepts to Consider: Cuticle prevents loss of water needed for photosynthesis; stomata
and guard cells allow diffusion of carbon dioxide and oxygen (open during day, closed at
night).
