Most patients don't care where you go, just how good you are. However, Caribbean rates of succesfully matching into a US residency are notoriously low, and almost everyone goes to a family practice residency in the sticks. Be very careful to go to a Caribbean school that is accredited with the US (don't take their word for it!), there's only a half dozen or so.

No Caibbean medical school is accredited in the US.  The LCME is the sole accrediting authority for US medical schools and it is limited to accrediting schools in the US, Canada and US territories.

When choosing to attend a Caribbean medical school one should limit the choices to those schools recognized by the California Medical Board.  If the CMB recognizes the school, graduates can practice in all 50 states.  Each year, more states are adopting the list of approved schools recognized by the CMB.  There are several schools that no state recognizes and each year, more students are running into the problem of their state recognizing the school when the student started, but no longer recognizing it by the time they finish their clinical rotations.

Residency Program Directors choose individuals, not schools.  There are graduates of Caribbean medical schools in every residency program in the US.
