Cn(H2O)n is all I get on wiki as an example for this chain of carbon atoms. I was wondering if it could be written out in these forms:

CH2OH (CH2O)4 CHO or if it must be simplified to

C6H12O6 or if

C6(H2O)6 is the only correct way to write down this equation.

Hey, good question.

The way you've written it is too complicated! It's important to simplify how chemicals are written for the sake of insanity! lol

C6H12O6 is the accepted version.

(CH2O)6 is also a possibility.
