I think it's active as it maintains a gradient of hydrogen ions within the thylakoid membrane but I just want to make sure. Also, osmosis is considered passive transport right?

Chemiosmosis occurs after the electron transport chain, letting H+ ions with their gradient to make ATP. Since H+ passively diffuses, it is passive transport.

Osmosis is passive, by its definition.
