In a population of 100 individuals 40 are homozygous for unattached earlobes (EE), 50 are heterozygous (Ee) and 10 are homozygous for attached earlobes (ee).  What are the allele frequencies?

You don't need the Hardy Weinberg equartion to solve this. It is simple calculation of percent.

total # of specific alleles/total number of alleles.

(40x2)+50/200  is E
(10x2)+10/200 is e

The frequency of E is the frequency of EE plus half the frequency of Ee, and the frequency of e is the frequency of ee plus half the frequency of Ee.
