I need HELP!!!! i need to solve this problem only using one variable to find 2 numbers!!'

the Question: The greater of two numbers is 1 more than twice the smaller. Three times the greater exceeds 5 times the smaller by 10. Find the numbers.

G = 2s+1

3G= 5s+10

multiply the first equation by -3

-3G = -6s-3
plus
3G = 5s +10

0 = -s + 7
s= -7

G=-14+1= -13
