The functions would look something like this ( ^ is raising an x to a power)

f(x)= (x^2-1)/x

or

f(x)= 2/(x+1)^2

I know you would need to use the quotient rule, however, I get a little lost on the second derivative....I also get lost finding the zero's of both function.

for the first equation, (2x-x^2-1)/x^2. set it to equal to 0
x^2-2x+1=0
