Write as an algebraic expression in simplest form:   The sum of a number and three times that same number, increased by five...
The sum of a number is confusing me! I know it means to add to a number but i don't know how to write this... I do know the last part will be x(times/multiply)  :  Neutral Face?  x 3n + 5

Please help!

n = a number
3n + 5 = three times that number increased by 5
n + 3n + 5 = the sum of a number and three times that number increased by 5
4n + 5 = same as above but with like terms combined, i.e., an algebraic expression in simplest form.
