2. Household outlets are often double outlets. Are these connected in series or parallel? How do you know?

If household outlets are connected in series, failure in one part of the circuit would disrupt the entire circuit! If one light bulb blows, does the rest of the electrical appliances in a house stop working? It is more likely that household outlets are connected in parallel.
