Look up American Psychological Association. There are job listings there and you will see the wide range of employment opportunities.

usually, psychology students go onto Graduate School to get their Masters, Ph.D, or Psy.D (Doctorate of Psychology). there are other jobs for psych students who do not go onto graduate school, but they probably dont deal with direct psychological circumstances/problems of other people, because an undergraduate psych major is not trained to do those sorts of things.

most psych students also double major in education too and go into teaching/school psychology.

good luck!

There are no specific jobs for the psychology major.  However, it is better than a philosophy major in landing A job.  Depending on your state and how easy the requirements to become a teacher, a psychology degree may qualify one to teach elementary school as a social science teacher once teacher certification is achieved.

Remember that a psychology degree has no specific set of skills.  That is why getting a psychology job is fantasy and getting A job is difficult.  Psychology is one of those subjects that does require at least a Masters in order to have a job like counseling.  A PhD is required if you want to revisit the topics you've seen as an undergraduate.

with a deegree the best you can hope for is a psychologists assistant. For a job as a psychologist you need a Phd. The pay as an assistant isnt great and the money as a psych can be good depending on where you got your doctorate from, who you work for and wheather or not it is private or public

good luck!

It largely depends on the degree you get.  A BA/BS in psychology is a good general degree, in my opinion.  Most include a course or two related to industrial/organizational psychology or organizational behavior.  You can use the skills in any entry level career, in business it may be especially suited towards training, marketing or human resources.

In a more clinical setting you'll likely be limited to being a "counselor" at a residential setting, which may involve supervising residents. This could include substance abuse rehab centers or other residential treatment settings.  Other jobs in these settings may be of a more administrative in nature.

To do therapy, you'll need a MA in psychology or social work or a psychology PhD or PsyD.  This requires getting licensed and licensing requirements vary based on teh state you wish to practice in.

Future employers really like people with psychology degrees as it indicates an 'all-rounder.' By gaining the degree you are demonstrating an ability at the three basics - maths/english/science.

Psychology degrees lead to jobs in many fields a few that are common are marketing, P.R. and social care - all of which require no further training or offer training on the job.

Remeber if you want to practice as a psychologist you must make sure your degree course is accredited.
