Ed has trouble distinguishing between assertive and aggressive communication. His teacher clarifies the difference by saying:
 
  A. aggressive and assertive communication is basically the same.
  B. assertive communication means taking charge of your life without taking advantage of others.
  C. aggressive behavior takes advantage of others, so passive aggressive behavior is better.
  D. assertive behavior means being passive about ones needs, whereas aggressive behavior allows one to meet these needs while also helping others.
