The four categories are: (1) direct selling that includes multilevel selling and network marketing firms such as Tupperware and Amway; (2) direct marketing, including catalog sales and direct mail; (3) automatic vending that includes vending machines; and (4) buying service that is usually a storeless retailer that serves a specific clientele—usually employees of large organizations.
