a) For which systems can we solve the Schrödinger equation unambiguously? Give 2 examples of such atoms/ions found in the second period of the Table of Elements and explain your choice.

b) Place the following atoms in order with regard to increasing electron affinity: oxygen, strontium, vanadium. Give a justification for your answer.
c. For the molecule NBrF2:
(i) Calculate the number of valence electrons. (1 mark)
(ii) Which 3D structure would you expect this molecule to have based on the number of valence electrons? (1 mark)
(iii) Draw its Lewis structure including any lone pairs and formal charges. (2 marks)
(iv) Based on the structure you drew in (iii) above, determine the point group of NBrF2 and sketch the symmetry elements used to identify the point group on a drawing of the molecule.
