With so many proven applications and so much continuing research and development (Google alone is working on more than 1,000 deep learning projects, for instance), deep learning is here to stay. Venture capitalists are pouring billions of dollars into AI and deep learning start-ups, and over a few short years, deep learning has gone from a sci-fi curiosity to a feature that many VCs expect to see in new products.
