Students in an introductory statistics course were asked to count the number of scars on their dominant hand (the one they write with the most). The results are displayed in the provided boxplot.

A horizontal boxplot depicts the results of the number of scars of the students on their dominant hand. The horizontal axis is labeled number of scars and ranges from 0 to 12 in increments of 2. The whiskers of the box plot range from 0 to 6 and the box ranges from 1 to 3 with a median at 1.4. Three outliers extend above the upper whiskers and are plotted at the  points: 8, 9, and 12. All values are approximate.


Calculate the IQR for the distribution of the number of scars students have.
