A hand driven cart that goes on railroad tracks would be a good example.  It uses linear action to turn a crank to make the car go.  You reciprocate motion in the handle

This would not be hard to make, just a lever connected to a vertical bar that is attached to a wheel perimeter, which in turn makes an axle turn.  This does all three

An old-fashion locomotive. The train moves linearly down the track, the wheels rotate, and the pistons reciprocate turning the wheels.
