it's like stuff, in a thing, but you don't even know what that thing it, except that it's got that stuff in it. and you don't know what that stuff is, except that you know that it's in that thing. and somehow it's all important, but did you hear about the crazy new brouhaha going on in the WWE? wow, man, that s**t is crazy! also, they have a new war going on in pakistan or some suck place like that. bombs and guns and islamics! now what were you saying about quant man? no, i don't know either. oh look! the new WWE is on!

to predict the the possition of an electron??

but it doesnt need a purpose yet any way, science isnt about functionality it is about knowledge and understanding like superstring theory there are tons of ppl that study that, but its still theory and what good will it ever do XP, but with knowledge and understanding does usually come function in the future
