• They are all metabolic processes that occur within cells, but each works in distinct ways.
• Both glycolysis and glycogensis metabolize glucose, but glycolysis produces pyruvate and ATP, whereas glycogenesis produces glycogen.
• Glycogenolysis and gluconeogensis both produce glucose, but glycogenolysis breaks down glycogen, whereas gluconeogensis generates glucose from noncarbohydrate sources.
